#310 - Resident Freshwater Guide

A valid freshwater guide license is required for any person who provides freshwater fishing guide services on any public waters in the state (north of I-10). Applicants must present one of the two combinations: 1) Valid Sportsman License; Proof of CPR and First Aid Training from an American Red Cross or American Heart Association-certified trainer or course; Boater Education Course Certification OR 2) Valid Sportsman License and Valid US Coast Guard Captain’s License

Description

Residents must show proof of residency and have a valid MS Sportsman's License, unless exempt by the state law. Non-residents must have a valid MS annual non-resident fishing license.

Other requirements include:

Proof of CPR and First Aid training from an American Red Cross or American Heart Association-certified trainer or course
Certification of boater education course
A USCG Captain's License may be substituted for CPR, First Aid, and Boater Education
